What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of becoming intentionally aware of your body, thoughts, emotions, and environment through focusing your mind on the present moment.  Through observing your thoughts and feelings with acceptance and non-judgement, your mind becomes more clear, calm, and focused.  As a formal practice, mindfulness is typically done as a sitting meditation; however, other ways to practice mindfulness include walking meditation, eating mindfully, or even just becoming more present and aware in your daily activities.
